Sean Otmishi is a visionary IT and education leader with over 15 years of experience in enterprise technology, higher education consulting, and workforce development. As the co-founder and managing partner of TAF Solutions LLC, Sean specializes in delivering enterprise-grade tools and strategies tailored to small and medium-sized businesses, helping them navigate complex technological landscapes at affordable costs.
Higher Education Leadership
As the Dean and Executive Director of Workforce Technology at Houston Community College (HCC), Sean led transformative programs and partnerships that positioned the institution as a national leader in workforce education and technology innovation. His accomplishments include:
- Launching the first Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship in IT for the Gulf Coast region.
- Developing Texas’ first two-year Artificial Intelligence program.
- Establishing a cloud computing program in partnership with Amazon AWS.
- Securing the CAE (Center of Academic Excellence) in Cyber Defense designation.
Sean cultivated strategic partnerships with global leaders in technology, including Intel, Nvidia, Apple, Mace VR, GRIMM, and Nutanix, to integrate cutting-edge tools and resources into HCC’s programs. These collaborations provided students with hands-on experience in advanced technologies such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, ensuring workforce readiness and academic excellence.
Sean also played a key role in HCC’s Apple partnership, launching the Coding and Design School and the HCC Teacher Coding Academy as part of Apple’s Community Education Initiative. These initiatives empowered students and educators to develop mobile applications using Apple’s Swift programming language and contributed to workforce readiness in technology-driven careers.
Additionally, Sean led HCC’s international collaboration with Saigon Technical Institute in Vietnam, aligning Computer Science programs with accreditation standards. His efforts included onsite visits to train faculty, support student success, and ensure compliance with global academic benchmarks.

Sean has been instrumental in workforce development, securing and managing over $2 million in state and federal grants, including:

During his time as an Adjunct Professor at Houston Community College, Joe shared his expertise with aspiring media professionals, teaching courses in video production, non-linear editing, audio production, 2D animation, and motion graphics using tools like Cinema 4D and After Effects.
